They are now looking for a number of Senior Research and Development Scientists to join their team in Dungloe. You’ll join an incredibly talented team and work on a range of engaging projects that will ensure your career stays on track and that you have the chance to continue innovating and making advances in medical spheres. As a Senior Research and Development Scientist, you will join our client’s state-of-the-art facility in Dungloe and get involved in an exciting array of R&D projects to drive our client’s product range forward. Embracing cutting edge, new technologies, you will be involved in biomarker discovery programmes and the interrogation of antibody/protein interactions to stimulate the development of novel multiplexed assays. You’ll join teams working on areas of strategic focus, such as renal disease, oncology, neurodegeneration, gastrointestinal disorders and animal health. Your research will involve international involvement with both national and international collaborative networks and could see you making breakthroughs that change thinking but most importantly, medical outcomes. So, if you are ready to lead the way in the design, development, verification and clinical validation of innovative diagnostic tests, this is the role you’ve been waiting for. To be considered as a Senior Research and Development Scientist, you will need: - A PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant biomedical or life science subject. - Extensive laboratory experience. - Knowledge of immunoassay principles. - Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The ideal Senior Research and Development Scientist will have comprehensive knowledge of immunology and protein biochemistry, as well as data analysis skills, including statistics and clinical cohort sample analysis. Experience of presenting at national and international conferences would also be beneficial, as would evidence of being published in internationally recognised, peer reviewed journals. Ideally, you’ll be familiar with a wide variety of lab instrumentation, including automated systems. Experience in assay development and validation in an ISO 13485 accredited environment would also be an advantage.
