This leading global outsource provider in manufacturing is a key employer in Donegal providing jobs to well over 200 people in the Letterkenny area. To support continuing development, they now wish to recruit a Financial Accountant to join the team. Role Profile: Principal support to Financial Controller in the following areas: Accounts Receivable, accounts payables, financial accounting, taxation, vat, payroll and Financial reporting. Provide accurate financial information on a routine basis and as requested within given time constraints. Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Policies of the company. Responsibilities: Ensure the maintenance of proper Books of Account for the Company, in line with, Statements of Standard Accounting Practice and Company Law. Organise the preparation of Accounts for Audit by the Company's auditors at financial year-end. Oversee the timely preparation of accurate financial reports which summarise the financial performance of the Company and measure same against pre-determined budgets and standards. These reports are issued monthly and quarterly. Provide assistance to management at all levels by supplying relevant financial information, either at regular intervals or an ad hoc basis, as aids to planning, decision making and control. Prepare Cash Forecasts and foreign currency analysis as requested. Ensure customers are invoiced correctly for projects and all costs are collected. Liaise with the Company's Taxation Consultants in preparing statutory tax returns. Ensure VAT, PAYE & PRSI returns are completed in a timely manner. Prepare Grant Claims and liaise with grant bodies. Participate in the preparation of the Company's annual budget for submission to Board of Directors. Respond to the Central Statistics Office and other government agencies and ensure that all mandatory statistical returns are properly submitted. Assist in physical inventories to verify that the values of inventory recorded in the Company's books are correct. Develop and review all Accounting / Financial procedures and practices; ensure that such procedures and practices provide adequate internal control to protect the Company's assets and financial interests. Review hourly payroll and ensure that the correct Taxation and PRSI rules are applied. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare Audit schedules. Prepare monthly journal vouchers. Ensure stocks are correctly valued. Develop systems and work methods to ensure best work practices are applied and systems are maximised. Ensure systems meet changing external & internal requirements. Perform any other duties as assigned by Financial Controller. What we are looking for: Third level with relevant qualification in Accounting, preferably ACA, ACCA or ACMA. Knowledge of accounting and tax affairs. Ability to work with minimum supervision and Accounting skills to a wide range of tasks. Self-starter with initiative. Provide results which are both clear and, most importantly, accurate. 3 years in a Financial Accounting function with experience in computerised financials.
